Terms of Service

The agreement between you and PersonalLedger: what we provide, what we ask of you, and what happens if either of us ends it.

Version 1.0-draft · Not yet in effect

Draft — prepared before launch, not yet in effect, pending legal review. Highlighted text marks facts that still have to be decided.

The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME REQUIRED] (“PersonalLedger”, “we”). By creating an account and accepting them in the app, you agree to them. The Privacy Policy and the Health notice explain how we handle your data and what PersonalLedger is for; please read them too.

What PersonalLedger is

PersonalLedger is a personal tracking and reflection tool for training, nutrition, sleep, cycle, body, mind and daily life. It helps you record what happens and notice patterns in your own data.

It is not a medical service. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, it is not a method of contraception or a fertility monitor, and it does not replace advice from a qualified professional. See the Health notice.

Price: [PRICING / SUBSCRIPTION MODEL REQUIRED — the service is currently provided free of charge during development].

Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use PersonalLedger, or 18 if you live in the United States.
  • Give accurate sign-up information and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Tell us at [SUPPORT CONTACT REQUIRED] if you think someone else has accessed it.

Your content

What you log, write and upload stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and display it only as needed to run PersonalLedger for you — and, for anything you choose to share, to show it to the people your settings allow.

We don't claim ownership of your content and we don't use it for advertising.

Using PersonalLedger respectfully

Profiles, usernames, bios, photos, shared workouts and captions are seen by other people. When you use them, don't:

  • harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone;
  • post sexual content, content that sexualises minors, hateful content, or content that encourages self-harm or disordered eating;
  • share someone else's personal or health information without their permission;
  • post spam, advertising, or anything illegal;
  • upload photos or text you don't have the right to use, such as someone else's photo;
  • try to access other people's accounts or data, probe or disrupt the service, or use automated tools to collect data from it.

You can report a profile or shared workout from its ⋯ menu, and block any account. A person reviews every report. We may remove the reported content (a bio, a profile photo or a shared workout) or suspend accounts that break these rules. Shared text is also checked against a short list of words that aren't allowed. Review times, how we tell you about a decision, and how to appeal: [MODERATION ROUTINE AND APPEALS REQUIRED — EU Digital Services Act notice-and-action and statement of reasons]. Reporting is not an emergency service; if someone is in danger, call 112 (in the US, 911).

Our content

The app, its design, and its library content (such as the ingredient library and its written explanations) belong to us or our licensors. Library content is general education — not personal advice — and cites its sources where it can. Image and data credits: [THIRD-PARTY CONTENT LICENSING REVIEW REQUIRED].

AI features

Some features use AI — today, estimating what's in a meal photo you choose to analyze, and reading the numbers on a body-composition printout you choose to photograph. AI output is an estimate that can be wrong. You review it before anything is saved. See the AI notice for what is sent where.

Changes and availability

We're actively building PersonalLedger, so features will change. We'll try to keep it available but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted. If we plan to stop the service, we'll tell you in advance and give you time to download your data.

Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by deleting your account in Privacy & data — that deletes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why and let you download your data first.

Liability

[LIABILITY CLAUSE REQUIRED — must be drafted by qualified counsel; consumer protection law in Sweden and the EU limits what may be excluded, and nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.]

Governing law and disputes

[GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION CLAUSE REQUIRED — e.g. Swedish law, without depriving consumers of the protection of the law where they live; mention Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN) and the EU consumer dispute options as counsel advises.]

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll show you the new version in the app and ask you to accept it before you continue. You can always download your data and leave instead.
